Conmemorando y celebrando a Bernard Haitink, a un año de su partida de éste plano.

Aunque muy asociado al repertorio tradicional germánico romántico y posrromántico (Beethoven, Mahler, Bruckner...) existe un grupo de grabaciones de repertorio menos frecuente y con el cual el recordado maestro holandés nos dejó grabaciones de auténtica referencia.

Uno de éstos discos imprescindibles es su primera grabación del Dafne y Cloé de Ravel, ballet en versión completa hecho con la Sinfónica de Boston. Por alguna razón Haitink tuvo siempre una gran afinidad con ésta obra en particular, con al menos tres grabaciones en su haber (la bostoniana es la primera y la indiscutiblemente de elección). Se trata de un portento de grabación, con el mejor sonido Philips, tal vez sin el toque final de sensualidad hedonista que conseguiríamos en un Munch, pero sin duda una grabación inspirada y del más alto nivel artístico. Una gran adición para toda colección esencial dedicada al maestro desaparecido.

Una espléndida recomendación.
Con respecto a las grabaciones que hizo Haitink de esta obra, sólo aclararía que, aún cuando se publicó hasta 2012, la grabación de una toma en vivo con la Filarmónica de Londres bajo el sello de la propia orquesta, en realidad esa una grabación previa a esta realizada con la Sinfónica de Boston. La de la LPO es de 1979, pero coincido, esta de Boston es mejor que la de Londres y de la posterior con la Sinfónica de Chicago.
Tal vez no sea un aspecto tan conocido sobre la vida de Haitink, pero por el lado de su madre, tenía una fuerte influencia francesa y siempre sintió una gran afinidad por la música de ese país. Por esta razón, además de sus virtudes como un maestro del ritmo y el color, puede explicarse su gran efectividad al dirigir a compositores como Debussy, Ravel o Roussel.
Gracias por tus comentarios, Polo. Excelente aclaratoria. Pensé que al tratarse de un sello más nuevo, la grabación londinense sería más reciente que la de Philips, pero ya veo que no es así.

Thanks, but I have tried this frequently. After seeing your explanation that the link was ok today, I tried again on a different PC, using both the Vivaldi and Brave browsers. It starts the Mega interface but immediately I get a message that the file is no longer available.
Could you paste it in AGAIN in your reply to me? Maybe ONE character is bad or there is some other anomaly with character sets compared to the way they are shown in US-Windows machines.

I have tried AGAIN with three browsers on two Windows machines. The Mega interface logo opens but in a few seconds there is the message that the file is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
I fear that there is something very strange going on (I am a computer and web programmer of decades' experience. Thanks.

It opens the animated Mega logo but then immediately goes to a page with the message that the file is not available.
I tried all of the browsers on this PC (in the USA) via Win 7, and another Win 10 machine as well. Get the same result.
I use Mega all the time and do understand how to employ it. I can only imagine that there is some anomaly related to the area of the world where the file may be accessed, versus where YOU are. I will not further comment on this; thanks for checking on your end.
